While all grass types aren't looking their best due to our drought conditions, there are some types that are faring better than others. What is the best type of warm-season grass to pick for your lawn?
The Texas Cooperative Extension recommends four types of grass for central Texas:
- Bermuda Grass– drought and cold tolerant, resistant to disease and spreads quickly.
- St. Augustine Grass – deep rooted, tough, and fast growing.
- Buffalo Grass – drought tolerant and low maintenance requirements.
- Zoysia Grass – attractive, drought resistant and resilient to wear
Check back with us the rest of this week as we continue to post about the detailed traits of the 4 different grasses to help you decide which lawn grass is best for you!
