"This is an overdue note to say thank you for the services provided by Preferred Landscape and Lighting. Last year, when I approached you for landscape services for my home, I had planned on improving the look of landscape in the front and back yard, updating the lighting and irrigation, and most significantly, adding an outdoor pergola and fireplace area. I was intent on having this finished in time for our annual Halloween party. Not only was it finished on time, but you even helped me hang my outdoor lights and decorations right before the party! And the revision of the front porch and addition and artistic placement of large pots, suggested in the landscape design, was something I had not envisioned, but it turned out beautifully.

In the past year, the outdoor fireplace and pergola area has become an important extension of our home life. I have enjoyed a glass of wine with my friends on many a pleasant evening, and my son has loved having the area as a place for he and his friends to hang out by the fireplace and chat.

This year, terrible weather hit San Antonio on the day before Halloween, with heavy rains and storms. My regular maintenance service on Halloween day was canceled early in the morning because of the heavy rains. Fortunately for our annual party, the weather actually cleared by about 10 AM and we had the best weather ever for that evening. But I was in a bit of a panic, with all the preparations that had to be completed for the party. The weather the night before had blown tree debris all over the back porch and pergola areas, and when Rachel called to tell me services were canceled and that the crews had been told they could leave, I told her about the party plans. She immediately offered to help….the major concern was just blowing off all the debris and cleaning up, so she came over herself to take care of that, allowing me to concentrate on the rest of the preparations for the party.

Most recently, the water feature and lighting installed in the atrium outside the master bath has completely transformed the whole bathroom…so much more pleasant for the large window to look out on that than the unkempt area that was there before!

I sincerely appreciate the prompt and considerate service provided by you personally, and by all the folks at Preferred Landscape and Lighting. My initial decision to work with Preferred was on the basis of great reviews from a good friend of mine, and I can add my positive experiences to his. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go...

It is that time of year again and our Holiday Decor division has been super busy decorating for the holidays for our customers!  Here is a customer comment we received this season.

We were so flattered to receive this glowing recommendation from a recent client of ours!  We wanted to share with you this week as well as some before and after pictures of the most recent project.

"When our family decided that we wanted an extreme change in our yard and patio area, we had no idea where to start. We made several phone calls and obtained a few estimates. Robert Watson, from Preferred Landscape and Lighting, came to our rescue. He came to our home and mapped out our entire lot. He came back with a plan that was above and beyond what we could ever imagine! He explained that the work could be completed in phases, but we opted to go all out due to the fact that the plan was beautiful! The work was completed in a very timely manner and that included a weather delay!

Each phase of the transformation was completed by professionals and Robert checked on progress often. We were able to call, text, or even have Robert come by our house for any concerns we had. Robert came on the day that all plants were to be installed and changed anything that he thought just wasn't right before they were planted into the ground. If any problems were encountered, Robert fixed them right away.

We LOVED our new yard and patio transformation that when we moved we decided to use him again on our new house and property! We are certain that Robert's design helped our home to sell in less than one week on the market! We had the BEST looking yard in our neighborhood, by far! "I have a new home that we did landscaping in the front of the house. Preferred designed a wonderful plan and provided me with different options. Preferred built beautiful stacking stone beds, did the irrigation, sod, and all of the plantings.

  

I was very pleased with the process. I called a designer (Robert Watson) and he came out, on time, and we talked a lot about my options. He then worked up a plan for the entire yard. It was quite a lot of money to do the entire yard, so I asked if we could break it down into "phases" and the Robert was very understanding and helpful and provided me with a plan to do just that. Our initial phase was the $30k and I am very pleased. They planted plants that have done well with our weather and I only have one plant that might need to be replaced. I have a contemporary home and the designer did a great job of designing beds to match and really enhance the home.All of the work was done as scheduled and in a professional manner. The workers are true craftsmen and quite pleasant to work with. Robert has been very attentive and has checked on the plants and on the grass as time has passed. I look forward to doing more work with Preferred as I can afford it. I highly recommend Robert Watson and  Preferred Landscaping!"

"About 3 years after Preferred Landscape did a beautiful job on a complete renovation of our back yard, which created a wonderful outdoor living space we use just about every day,

we called them again for another idea we had in mind for the front yard. We started with only a vague idea, and Darryl came up with a great design that echoed elements of the back yard. It involved creating a completely new front patio, replacing walkways from the street and across the front of the house, and building two new stone walls.

The walkways, patio and rock walls were done by Daniel Cardenas and his team, who did a wonderful job. Daniel and the team leader, Miguel, were both excellent at communicating and

dedicated to doing high quality work and making sure they addressed any concern, however small. Miguel and his team worked tirelessly, with great attention to detail. They put in very long days to catch up after losing two days to rain. It was amazing to watch them work together as a team, with everyone having a job to do and doing it well, anticipating where help would be needed, and staying ahead of the next step. In building the stone walls, their level of craftsmanship was really an art.

We've already had a passerby pull over and want to know who did the work because it looks so awesome. The greenscape and lighting going in now will finish off another beautiful space. There is nothing better than when we recieve kind words from our clients who are happy with their experience with Preferred Landscape and Lighting.  The following is recent feedback we received on an outdoor living space. 

 

"We contacted Darryl a year after he installed some LED lighting for us in our front yard.  He had mentioned that he did a lot more than just top quality landscape lighting.

  

We had a nice back patio that came with builder upgrades on our home but it was not protected from the elements.  We asked

Darryl to draw up some plans that allowed us to have a completely covered space so that the area would become more useable throughout all the seasons.  Darryl came back with a plan that included large timber western red cedar posts and beams, tong and groove stained pine ceilings, and a high quality built in grill.  Before he drew these plans we talked budget and time frame and they actual plans came in on target. 

Darryl never came back and asked for any change orders and he kept us informed of the progress via email. 

  

A few weeks later we had a beautiful completely covered outdoor patio space that has already hosted numerous events for our friends and family.  Thank you to Darryl and the Preferred team.  Hopefully we can start phase 3 of the project soon."  ~John G.
